Grandin is a renowned author and professor within CSU's Animal Sciences department, who's made strong contributions to the humane livestock handling realm and autism advocacy. Grandin was named a distinguished professor by CSU and has two equine centers named after her, including a center at CSU's satellite campus, Spur, on the grounds of National Western Center.

The parade will kick off the weeks-long Stock Show on Jan. 5. The parade was canceled last year due to frigid temperatures and icy conditions.
