How much should it cost to ride RTD? Here’s how to have your say on future fares

How much do you think it should cost to ride the bus or light rail?

Now's your chance to give input as the Regional Transportation District (RTD) plans for a new fare structure.

RTD is currently undergoing a "Systemwide Fare Study and Equity Analysis," with plans to recommend a new structure for prices. The study seeks to help people who cannot afford to ride, make discounts and products more accessible, reassess the value of fares and make prices easier to understand.

Recommendations include changing rates for trips to and from the airport, making more customers eligible for income-based fare discounts and growing transit benefit options for employers. The program would also have a pilot program in which people ages 19 and younger would travel for free, and widen access to passes aimed at college students. Now, RTD wants Denverites' input. People have until May 22 to share comments online. RTD is also hosting a number of events for people to provide feedback, including at a range of community events and pop-ups, along with virtual and in-person sessions. Here's more info:
