If you're looking for the story about Car2Go changing to Mercedes-Benzes, go here.

About 10 months ago, Car2Go cut its service area dramatically, reported Colorado Public Radio. But now, some areas have been added back into what the company calls its home area.

Company Spokesperson Dacyl Armendariz says that since the initial reduction in September, membership has risen from 35,000 to 40,000.

On the other hand, the Denver Post reported that the initial move eliminated over 8,000 people from the smart car rental service, many of them at the eastern edge of the city.

Those neighborhoods, places like Stapleton, have not be added back into the service area. Instead, the additions reconnect the University of Denver back to the city. Or as Car2Go puts it:

With this expansion, our new Home Area now includes South Park Hill, Hale, Montclair, Washington Park, Platte Park, Washington Park West, and Rosedale.

Armendariz says that the additions were overwhelmingly driven by customer feedback. As for the other areas, Car2Go's not ruling out any additions, but they aren't planned currently.
