The central United States could get the worst of a heat wave expected to arrive between Thursday and Saturday, the Washington Post reports.

The dome of hot air could bring temperatures in Denver about 10 degrees above normal, one forecast image shows. Other cities may see an anomaly of up to 20 degrees.

The heat is expected to come with very high humidity, which could bring many cases of heat stroke, heat exhaustion or death, according to CNN. The National Weather Service predicts temperatures up to 96 degrees later this week, and humidity could make it feel worse than that.
