Things to do in Denver: Pokemon Go weekend edition

So go catch ’em all. Just don’t trip over a peacock while you’re at it.

In a move that is almost too obvious and perfect, the Denver Zoo is getting on the Pokemon Go craze.

This weekend, the zoo is offering a $5 discount on admission to anyone who shows the Pokemon Go app while purchasing a ticket. The offer is available from 1 p.m. until close Friday through Sunday.

During those hours, a press release says, the zoo will have lures on all its pokestops. And, in case you don’t already know, it has a gym.

So go catch ’em all. Just don’t trip over a peacock while you’re at it.

If rollercoasters are more your poke-speed, you’re in luck: Lakeside Amusement Park is having a similar event.

From 3 to 9 p.m., they’ll be setting lures at different pokestops every hour. The park has six pokestops and two gyms. And while you’re at it, you can enjoy unlimited rides for $15 — that’s $10 off normal prices.

If that’s not enough to get your non-trainer friends and family to join you, there’s this: Lakeside will also be hosting a scavenger hunt.

The park is at 4601 Sheridan Blvd.

For more “adult” Pokemon fun: there’s the Pokemon Go bar crawl.

It’s happening tonight (Thursday), starting at 5 p.m., and the stops are decidedly pro-craft beer. Here’s the game plan:

5 p.m.: Mockery Brewing, 3501 Delgany St.
6:15 p.m.: First Draft, 1309 26th St.
8 p.m.: Ratio Beerworks, 2920 Larimer St.
9:15 p.m.: Epic Brewing, 3001 Walnut St.

Have fun, and please drink and throw pokeballs responsibly.
