Four Denver open houses close to schools you can visit this weekend

2 min. read

Ah, the last weekend of summer before Denver Public Schools start up again. If you have a school-aged child, I'm sure that their ideal weekend would be looking through a bunch of open houses. Got to start them early right?

If not, I'm sure any of these four houses, all within a half mile of a school, would offer you an opportunity to see joyful children frolic on your way out the door in the mornings.

  • 5127 East Thrill Place, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 944 square feet
  • Sunday Aug. 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Northeast Park Hill neighborhood
  • Steadman Elementary, .5 miles away

I assume that all the other kids would love your kid the most if they lived in a house that had "thrill" right in the name. "Hey mom and dad, I'm going to the THRILL house because they've got that bitchin' blue door." But don't let your kid be friends with a kid that swears like that.

  • 2460 West 29th Avenue, unit 106, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 1 partial bathroom, 1,228 square feet
  • Sunday Aug. 21 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Highland neighborhood
  • Valdez Elementary School, 295 feet away

Hope your kid likes a balcony with killer views. He or she might even be able to see their school from it.

  • 2427 Lowell Boulevard, 5 bedrooms, 4 full bathrooms, 1 partial bathroom, 3463 square feet
  • Saturday Aug. 20 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Sloan Lake neighborhood
  • Brown Elementary School, .1 mile away

For $875,000, you might as well start your own school. Just use one of those bedrooms. It's a thing that people actually do. Or you could host several dozen fancy dinner parties with a kitchen like that.

  • 2233 North Poplar Street, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, 855 finished square feet
  • Saturday Aug. 21 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
  • South Park Hill neighborhood
  • Denver School of the Arts, .4 miles away

I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again: How about those cabinets, huh? Plus, the Denver School of the Arts is so close to this school that even if you don't have kids, you can probably watch them all dance to school. Or performance art their way to school; all art is valid.
