Peyton Manning might be retired, but NBC still gave him plenty of airtime during the Broncos’ win over the Panthers on Thursday.
In the second half, Manning joined NBC broadcasters Al Michaels and Cris Collinsworth to discuss the state of the team, life in retirement and his future plans.
During their discussion, the former Colts and Broncos quarterback might have offered a clue as to what his next step professionally would be.
“I’m kind of looking forward to taking a breath, seeing what I miss, seeing what it is that I don’t miss,” Manning said.
"It's pretty nice up here, I gotta tell ya. You don't get hit in the back... not a bad gig up here."
Hmmmmmmmm.
Many have pointed out that Manning entering media would be a logical next step. He’s articulate, smart and well liked. Sports Business Journal reported in February that CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC were all interested in him.
Don’t be surprised if he does make the transition.
