New York's state Republican Party is paying for mailers for Donald Trump in Colorado and other battleground states.

New York GOP Chairman Ed Cox told the New York Daily News there is "nothing unusual" about a state party organization paying for mailers in other states for a national campaign.

“We are the New York party and he’s headquartered here. It’s easy for us to work with him,” Cox said.

The mailers reportedly have shown up in Colorado, Iowa, Ohio and Pennsylvania, all states that are a lot more competitive than New York.

Cox said the Trump campaign and the Republican National Committee asked for help. The money comes from the state party's federal account.
