The city of Denver wants to reshape its City Park Golf Course so that it can store runoff water during floods. This displeases some golfers and landscape lovers, who have sued to stop the plan.
If you care about the course or flooding or North Denver in general, then you'll have a chance soon to learn more and weigh in on the project.
The city will hold a community meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the City Park clubhouse, 2500 York Street. This is a drop-in event, so you can attend for just a few minutes.
Input gathered there will shape the redesign. Construction starts late in 2017.
FYI, the redesign will still leave the course with 18 holes. The detention pond will be dry and golfable normally. Part of the concern, though, is that the redesign could kill some of the course's charm.
