Voters last night approved the recreational use of marijuana in California, Maine, Massachusetts and Nevada, according to the Wall Street Journal; meanwhile, medical weed was approved Arkansas, Florida and North Dakota.
That means that 21 percent of the U.S., or about 61 million people, will live in places where marijuana is legal for general, non-medical use by adults, WSJ reports.
Currently, only about 5 percent of the U.S. lives in legal-marijuana states, according to the New York Times.
Arizona was the only state to vote against marijuana. Its voters rejected its medical marijuana proposal.
