But is it the eighth worst or the 29th worst for Thanksgiving travel delays? Let's discuss.
A study from AirHelp says that DIA is the 8th worst for delays of departing flights. Their work draws on information from the FAA, U.S. Department of Transportation, airport data and flight tracking vendors from 2012 through 2015.
Vox says that DIA is the 29th worst, based on Bureau of Transportation Statistics flight data from 2010 to 2015.
DIA spokesperson Heath Montgomery pointed out to the Denver Post that "snow events" were common in the AirHelp's 2012 to 2015 time frame:
“Looking at the dates of this study, Denver has had snow events each year from 2012-2015, ranging from Nov. 20 to Nov. 30. Unfortunately those acts of nature do tend to slow down air traffic for safety."
But forget this petty ranking, let's just see if you're going to make it to dinner on time.
Fortunately, we've got a bit of convergence among the two studies. Vox's analysis says that 15.1 percent of Thanksgiving flights were delayed in the 2010 to 2015 time frame. AirHelp says it's more like 16.24 percent, but again, they're looking at 2012 to 2015.
Hopefully if you end up delayed, your delay matches the average six minute delay that Vox found in its analysis of Thanksgiving travel.
