Oakwood Homes facing consumer complaints across Denver
Dozens of homeowners are complaining about issues in their new homes, Fox31 reports.
Dozens of homeowners are complaining about issues in their new Oakwood Homes, Fox31 reports. The biggest issues? Weak foundations and shoddy construction work.
Colorado-based Oakwood Homes is a 25-year-old new home builder with projects in metro Denver and others as far as Utah.
Presently, customer reviews of the company are 82 percent negative on the Better Business Bureau. BBB acknowledges a “potential pattern of complaints. Consumers are alleging Warranty Issues with the business.”
The company told Fox31 that the issues are just growing pains, not unlike any other builder in the market. Plus, Oakwood Homes told the station they have doubled the size of its warranty department to deal with claims.
Meanwhile, homeowner Bruce Marshall is watching siding fall his neighbors’ houses while his own awaits repairs.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen with this house,” Bruce Marshall told Fox31. “I just don’t have any idea.”
