Investigators say the Green Mountain Fire was “suspicious,” and so were four others

The brush fire that loomed above Lakewood on Monday night may have started in "suspicious" circumstances, meaning it's possible a human started it.

In fact, the 96-acre fire was only the most recent of five fires that happened around the Green Mountain area throughout November, according to West Metro Fire Rescue. The four earlier fires were all smaller than an acre. The Green Mountain Fire threatened but did not damage nearby neighborhoods.
