Valor Christian High School star quarterback Dylan McCaffrey announced nearly a year ago that he wanted to attend the University of Michigan to play under Jim Harbaugh. On Wednesday, he made that move official by signing his National Letter of Intent to become a Wolverine.

McCaffrey, whose father, Ed, played for the Broncos and whose brothers Christian and Max play Division I football, led Valor Christian to back-to-back 5A state championships in 2015 and 2016. He threw for 2,796 yards, 31 touchdowns and five interceptions as a senior and ran for 579 yards and 10 scores on the ground.

Rivals rated him their No. 7 quarterback and 131st overall in the Class of 2017. McCaffrey received offers from Arizona State, Colorado, Colorado State, LSU, Penn State, UCLA and Washington, but over the last year, there wasn’t any indication he’d choose any school besides Michigan.

McCaffrey is part of a Michigan class that 247sports rates as fourth overall. The Wolverines have gone 20-6 in two seasons under Harbaugh.
