The Denver Broncos will reportedly meet with a player they’re very familiar with on Tuesday: former Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter broke the news that the two sides would sit down with each other this week in a tweet Monday afternoon.

Charles, 30, has spent the first nine seasons of his NFL career with the division-rival Chiefs. Knee injuries have limited to playing in eight regular-season games over the last two seasons. But when healthy, few running backs have been more productive.

Charles’s lifetime 5.5 yards per carry average ranks fourth among any qualifying player ever. He’s rushed for 7,260 yards and 43 touchdowns in his career. He’s recorded 2,457 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns through the air as well.

It’s unclear how much Charles has left in the tank. He’s torn ACLs in both knees as a pro. He tore his left ACL in 2011. In October 2015, he tore the ACL in his right knee. Charles tore his meniscus in 2016, which kept him out of all but three games.

The Broncos already have several options at running back. C.J. Anderson will be back for his fifth season with the team. Devontae Booker, who Denver got in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft, is back for his sophomore season. The Broncos also chose De’Angelo Henderson out of Coastal Carolina in the sixth round of this year’s draft.
