Blackmon, who hit six home runs and 22 RBI last month, leads the MLB in RBI with 47, a remarkable feat for a leadoff hitter. Denverite caught up with Blackmon, 30, about his breakout season earlier this week. Here's the full story.
Holland, who recorded eight saves with a 1.17 ERA in May, has 20 saves in 22 appearances this season. He is the second pitcher to reach 20 saves in 22 or fewer appearances in a season since saves became an official stat in 1969. (Lee Smith recorded 20 in 21 appearances for the Orioles in 1994.)
The Rockies are 34-22. They begin a three-game set against the Padres in San Diego tonight.
