The Colorado Rockies will have multiple starters in the July 11 MLB All-Star Game and four representatives in all.
Center fielder Charlie Blackmon and third baseman Nolan Arenado were voted into the National League’s starting lineup by fans, and second baseman D.J. LeMahieu and closer Greg Holland were picked by Cubs manager Joe Maddon as reserves.
Blackmon nabbed one of the three outfield spots, while Arenado earned the nod at third base over the Cubs’ Kris Bryant.
Neither Arenado nor Blackmon have ever started an All-Star game, though Arenado was a reserve in 2015 and 2016, and Blackmon was a reserve in 2014.
The Rockies, who’ve lost 10 of their last 11, will play two home series against the Reds and White Sox before the All-Star break. This is the first time Colorado (48-36) has ever had four All-Star selections.
