No one likes Mike Coffman’s Spanish tweeting (yet)

Rep. Mike Coffman’s office has opened a new Twitter account aimed at two key constituencies: young people and Spanish speakers.

Operating as @MiRepCoffmanCO, the Congressman and/or his people have so far tweeted one thing: Happy Fourth of July, except in Spanish.

No one has replied to, liked, retweeted or “@” mentioned the account in its first 24 hours of existence.

It will be seen as a small part of Coffman’s sustained effort to soften his edge on immigration since his district changed to include densely Latino areas. In the past, he voted against President Barack Obama’s immigration reform policies. This year, in contrast, he co-sponsored a bill to protect young, undocumented immigrants from deportation.
