This is Kendall Smith’s first week on the job as Denverite’s Vice President of Sales and Events.

Smith is a business and finance leader who’s lived and worked in Colorado since 1996; he’s spent the last seven years working as Director of The Underground Music Showcase for The Denver Post, growing it to become the region’s premier independent music showcase.

“I am excited to join Spirited Media as a member of the extremely talented Denverite team. Denverite's mission of connecting people to their city and working to better inform members of the community is important,” Smith said. “I look forward to playing an integral role as Denverite continues to grow as a trusted voice in a rapidly changing region.”

"We love the events Kendall has put on and the way he's connected with neighbors and businesses when planning them," said Denverite editor Dave Burdick. "He'll take Denverite events to the next level, and we're excited to see what that looks like."

Smith arrives as Denverite prepares to expand its events model, following in the footsteps of Spirited Media’s sites in Philadelphia (Billy Penn) and Pittsburgh (The Incline). In both cities, events make up the majority of revenue, as well as providing important in-person outlets for journalism, networking and sponsor outreach. If you’re interested in sponsoring a Denverite event, or in advertising with us, you can reach Kendall at [email protected].

Smith was born in England to a military family but grew up in Texas, where he became a finance major at the University of North Texas. He’s participated in the Colorado Business Committee for the Arts' Leadership Arts Program as well as Colorado Creative Industries' Change Leader Institute.
