October’s going to October. Today’s high in Denver is 50 degrees and it’s drizzling this morning, with a 50 percent chance of rain throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow level has dropped to just 7,000 feet, with 4 to 10 inches expected in the northern mountains. Interstate 70 saw severe delays, including shutdowns in both directions — at Copper and Vail — due to snow last night.

Temperatures should gradually warm up through this week, with the occasional chance of showers or storms, NWS predicts. Another storm system is possible late in the week before a dry and warm weekend.
