At least three murals along approximately a mile of the Cherry Creek Trail have been vandalized. One of the murals, Alexandre Orion's "Paramount" was vandalized for a second time this year.

Here are the affected murals, as seen Saturday afternoon:

Last time that this happened, Brazillian artist Orion flew back to Denver and took four days to fix it. At the time, Denverite reported that he trained another artist in case of more vandalism.

The whole purpose of the murals is to deter graffiti, and up until recently, it's been working pretty well. Michael Chavez, public art program manager at Denver Arts and Venues, told Denverite that most taggers seek a blank canvas.

“Something’s happening. It’s a new thing,” he said in February.
