These 8 weird Denver beers won GABF medals

Denver has a pack of winning brews for beer lovers to try after this year’s medals were handed out Saturday at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival.

Denver has a new pack of winning brews for beer lovers to try after this year’s medals were handed out Saturday at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival.

Brewers in the Mile High matched their 2016 success, taking home eight awards Saturday. Altogether Colorado breweries won 38 medals Saturday, the most awarded to a state behind California.

Colorado also took home 38 medals in 2016.

Below is a look at the winning brews that are specifically from Denver breweries.

Gold winners

Denver Beer Co.’s “Just Another Pretty Face” — Pro-Am
Little Machine Beer’s “Razz Against the Machine” — American-Style Fruit Beer
? The Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field’s “So long and thank’s for all the (smoked) fish!” — Smoke Beer

Silver winners

Black Project Spontaneous & Wild Ales’s “Roswell: Grudge” —Experimental Beer
Our Mutual Friend Brewing’s “Saison Trystero” — Brett Beer
