Getting beat at home on national TV is one thing. To do it coming off a bye week is another. To get obliterated by a previously winless team that's missing several of its best players, though?

The Denver Broncos were embarrassed by the New York Giants 23-10 on Sunday Night Football. Here are some numbers to chew on.

Trevor Siemian attempted 50 passes. You probably don't need me to tell you that's not a recipe for success. The Broncos are 1-6 when Siemian attempts 40 or more passes. Siemian was asked to throw it so many times after Denver fell into an early hole. The two first-half interceptions didn't help things.
Neither did the fact that the Broncos' ground game looked impotent. Which leads us to...

Denver managed 46 rushing yards. The Broncos' ground game looked so good in the first four weeks of the season. Look at the week-by-week totals.
Week 1: 140 rushing yards
Week 2: 178 rushing yards
Week 3: 111 rushing yards
Week 4: 143 rushing yards
Week 5: Bye
To only rush for 46 yards on 17 attempts was a major disappointment.

The Broncos couldn't run the ball, and they couldn't stop the run. The Giants gashed Denver for 148 rushing yards on 32 attempts. In Weeks 1-4, Denver limited four of the best backs in football — Melvin Gordon, Ezekiel Elliott, LeSean McCoy and Marshawn Lynch — to 95 yards on 50 carries. In Week 6, former undrafted free agent Orleans Darkwa went off for 117 yards on 21 carries.

New York didn't do a whole lot in the passing game — who does, against the No Fly Zone? But Giants tight end Evan Engram played a nice game, catching five passes for 82 yards and a touchdown.
The Broncos are sometimes susceptible to speedy tight ends hurting them. Engram, a rookie picked 23rd overall, picked up some of the slack with Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall and Dwayne Harris all unavailable.

The Broncos committed three turnovers and forced none. Siemian was responsible for two of them, throwing two horrendous interceptions in the first half. You'll probably hear calls for Siemian's job this week. In his last three games, he's thrown two touchdowns compared to four interceptions.
Is Brock Osweiler a better option? I'm not really sure. What I do know, though, is that the Broncos' quarterback situation is not great if that question is even being raised.
