The wait is almost over: Shake Shack will open in Denver on March 21.
Mark your calendar accordingly. (A full-day block in aggressive red for aggressive excitement, a mental calendar note for neutral interest, or 9 a.m. reminder if you're the kind of person who needs to get on Twitter to snark on the hype.)
Doors open at 2995 Larimer St. at 11 a.m. opening day.
The menu there will have a good amount of local flavor. There will be beer from Ratio Beerworks, Great Divide Brewing Co., Denver Beer Co., Funkwerks and Odell Brewing Co. Frozen custard concretes will include the Pie Oh My, vanilla custard and a slice of seasonal pie from The Long I Pie Shop, and the Glazed Dazed Donut, vanilla custard, salted caramel sauce, chocolate toffee and Glazed and Confuzed banana bread donut.
Five percent of sales from Pie Oh My concretes will be donated to Food Bank of the Rockies.
And, of course, Denver's Shake Shack will have a Colorado-exclusive Green Chile CheddarShack — a cheeseburger with shredded white cheddar, marinated green chiles and scallions.
