Choice Market has teamed up with venture capital firm M3 Ventures to bring its second storefront to Denver — this one inside the Denver Housing Authority’s new headquarters in the Mariposa District development around 10th and Osage.

Choice Market is a bodega that provides all of the advantages of a convenience store but maintains a grocery store level of healthy eating options. The market provides fresh produce and meat and comes equipped with a fast-casual restaurant for quick meals.

Its original Denver store opened at 1770 N. Broadway last fall. The new one is coming in the first quarter of 2019.

For many years, Mariposa was an underserved community, and Mike Fogarty, founder and CEO of Choice Market, believes the market will be a beneficial element in the neighborhood.

“Affordable housing and availability of fresh food has long been an issue for many Denver communities, and we are honored to partner with two great organizations that have done so much to help address these issues and who share our common goal of making good food accessible," he said. "Our vision for Choice has always been to curate a product selection based on the needs of the neighborhoods we serve and allow our customers to dictate what goes on the shelf, not vice versa."
