Keanna Rosenburgh, the 17-year-old who allegedly shot into Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row injuring five people, is set to make her first appearance in court on Tuesday.
The shooting began after Rosenburgh was refused entry at Dierks Bentley's Whiskey Row in Lower Downtown on Sept. 16. Denver police said she returned shortly afterwards to talk with security, and as she walked away, she fired a gun in the direction of the bar. Five people were injured in the shooting, though investigators said none of them were targets.
Rosenburgh fled the scene and remained at large for over a month. She was finally arrested Oct. 19 in Barstow, California, after investigators spotted her at a suspected location. The FBI and local law enforcement helped with her arrest.
Denver District Attorney Beth McCann has charged Rosenburgh with 28 criminal counts, including seven counts of attempted murder and 15 counts of assault. In a statement, McCann called attention to the possession of a gun by a minor.
"This case illustrates once again the dangers of having illegal guns in the hands of young people, too many of whom are trying to resolve disputes, often minor disputes, with firearms," said McCann. "This type of behavior cannot, and will not, be tolerated in Denver."
Rosenberg is being charged initially as a juvenile.
