It’s hotter than a habanero roasted on the surface of the sun, Denver, and it’s going to stay that way for a while. (Or so history and science would indicate.) What we all need right now is nice refreshing drink.

And make it a grapefruit drink -- the perfect elixir for a brutally hot day.

But don't take it from us.

"Grapefruit is the perfect citrus for a summer cocktail," said Jake Soffes, owner of Hudson Hill and expert cocktail crafter. "It has excellent balance of sweetness, acidity, flavor and color that makes it easy to pair and mix with almost any flavor profile."

Here are 10 delicious grapefruit cocktails you can sip in Denver, including whiskey drinks, vodka drinks, gin drinks, pisco drinks and, naturally, a couple variations on the classic paloma. Plus, a simple recipe for all you beautiful homebodies.
