The Denver Nuggets are crossing the pond come January for a regular-season game.
Denver will play the Indiana Pacers at the O2 in London on Jan. 12 as a part of the NBA Global Games, the league announced Thursday morning.
It is the seventh NBA game to ever take place in London. It is also the first time the Nuggets have played a game in the U.K.
The Nuggets’ roster is heavy on overseas players. Forward Danilo Gallinari (Italy) and big men Nikola Jokic (Serbia) and Jusuf Nurkic (Bosnia and Herzegovina) all have European roots.
“We are thrilled to return for our seventh regular-season game in London,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said. “With almost 25 percent of players in the NBA born outside of the United States, we are seeing firsthand the global growth of our game, which has never been more popular in the U.K.”
The Nuggets’ entire 2016-17 schedule has yet to be released. Look for that sometime in August.
