If you tried to cross the Golden Triangle this weekend, you would have stumbled across the Bannock Street Criterium.
A criterium is a bike race held in a closed circuit. In this case, racers ride for nearly 50 minutes before judges call for 10 final laps. The Bannock Street Criterium is a tribute to Mike Nields, a talented bicycle racer who died hang gliding in 1991 when he was only 19.
These photos show the women's professional division, which cyclist Cari Higgins won by a sizable margin.
