Denver police investigating fatal “industrial accident” in Elyria-Swansea neighborhood

A man died Tuesday morning after an “industrial accident” in the Elyria-Swansea neighborhood.
The man got caught in a machine at KBP Coil Coaters Inc., 3600 E. 44th Ave, said Bob Klostermann, assistant area director for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
The accident happened at about 7:10 a.m., Klostermann said. “The initial details are an employee was caught in an aluminum splitter.”
The employee’s name has not been released to the public yet. He was in his 50s.
Authorities are still investigating the death and the Denver coroner is on scene, Klostermann said.
KBP Coil Coaters Inc. is an aluminum and steel coating business. The company told Denverite, “We have no comment at this time.”
