Air quality on the Front Range is not looking great for Wednesday.
The alert is in effect until at least 4 p.m., but the state already is advising people to reduce their "prolonged or heavy" outdoor exertion this afternoon through about 9 p.m.
People with lung diseases are at particular risk.
