Brian Lebron-Rivera has been arrested on charges of manslaughter in the death of his wife.
The 21-year-old Aurora man was taken into custody after police arrived at Bristol Village Apartments, 17103 East Ohio Place, at 6:05 p.m. Thursday and found Lebron-Rivera’s wife with a gunshot wound. She later died at the hospital, according to police.
Lebron-Rivera, an airman at Buckley Air Force Base, told police he was showing his wife how to take a gun from someone and didn’t realize it was loaded before he fired at her, the Aurora Sentinel reports, based on the arrest affidavit.
The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office hasn’t released her identity, but the Sentinel reports that the arrest affidavit filed against Lebron-Rivera identifies her as 20-year-old Genesis Rodriguez.
