Colorado is still locked in a five-way tie for lowest percentage of homes in foreclosure among mortgaged homes, according to the latest report from Corelogic. That means only 3,775 homes are in the process of foreclosure in the whole state.
Denver has only 971 of those homes. That's a decrease of 37.7 percent from last year. The relative strength of the city's housing market has the serious delinquency rate down to .9 percent, so I wouldn't expect a huge spike in foreclosures in the near future, either.
Homes in foreclosure are a popular target for real estate developers, but without a supply to draw on, practices like fixing and flipping have started to change.
