The Pelicans’ Anthony Davis could miss his team’s first game of the season against the Denver Nuggets on Oct. 26.

New Orleans’ star big man suffered a Grade 2 right ankle sprain in a preseason game against the Houston Rockets on Tuesday in Beijing. He is expected to miss between 10-15 days, Marc Spears of The Undefeated reported.

The Nuggets and Pelicans play in exactly 14 days.

Last year, Davis averaged 24.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
