There's an old football adage that says, "at least 80 percent of interceptions start in bed or in a recliner."

OK, no there's not.

But that figure is apparently accurate according to one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, the Denver Broncos' Chris Harris. Harris wrote about his craft — not allowing large, athletic men to catch footballs — in a delightful story in The Player's Tribune on Wednesday.

Harris details his week-to-week routine during football season in the story. Every Monday night, he watches the last three games his upcoming opponent has played to get a feel for their offense.

"I try to walk into the facility the next morning already knowing most of their offense before the coaches tell me," he writes.

On Tuesday, he looks at the plays they tend to run on first and second down. On Wednesday, he studies their third-down habits. You should check the story out.

Harris also lists his top-five toughest guys to cover in the league. Per Harris:

  • New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is the hardest matchup.
  • Pittsburgh Steelers wideout/water bug Antonio Brown is the best route runner.
  • The Houston Texans' DeAndre Hopkins in the best at winning jump balls.
