The last of three buildings came down Tuesday near Brighton Boulevard, clearing the way for the new Catalyst Health-Tech Innovation campus in RiNo.
The first part of Catalyst HTI is scheduled to open early in 2018. Kaiser Permanente and the Medical Group Management Association have already announced plans to lease space in the campus centered on digital health.
The plan is for Catalyst HTI to be developed in two phases, said Dean Koelbel, a partner on the project and co-owner of the campus.
"We’re in a pretty good spot," he said. "We’ll be finishing construction as the Brighton improvements wrap up."
The $50 million first phase of Catalyst HTI will include a seven-story building with 180,000 square feet including 16,000 square feet of retail space. Plans for the second phase are still tentative but show 120,000 square feet of space north of the first building.
So far, a dozen companies are set to take up about 40 percent of the first building of the campus, Koelbel said.
The goal is for a variety of digital health companies working in the same space to cause "serendipitous collisions" that spark innovation in the industry, he said.
Koelbel & Co. is developing Catalyst HTI along with The Burgess Family and Mike Biselli.
