Ski season starts on Friday at A-Basin

Yep. Arapahoe Basin reports four to five inches of fresh and natural. Combined with snowmaking, that should be enough to start one lift running this Friday, Oct. 21.

To be clear, you’ll only have access to High Noon, an intermediate run. Tickets for adults are $76, or $169 for a four-pack.

I just got my skis waxed, but I’m waiting for Winter Park to open (should be mid-November) because I already spend enough money on this stupid sport.

The reason A-Basin can open so early, by the way, is that it boasts a summit above 13,000 feet and the highest in-bounds skiiable terrain in the country.”
