Denver's new district attorney and Colorado's first African-American LGBT elected official will host a town hall on "ensuring civil rights for all" with Democratic state representatives, Denver police and the ACLU.
The event is scheduled for 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Luke's Presbyterian Medical Center, 1719 E. 19th Ave.
Refreshments will be served, and there's free parking in the garage across the circular driveway from the main entrance.
The event is sponsored by Beth McCann, the city's district attorney-elect, and Leslie Herod, the state representative-elect from House District 8.
Herod's district was the location of a particularly ugly act of pro-Trump, anti-trans vandalism after the election.
The scheduled speakers include state Rep. Crisanta Duran, the incoming speaker of the house, Department of Regulatory Affairs Executive Director Joe Neguse, ACLU of Colorado Public Policy Director Denise Maes and representatives of the Denver police and One Colorado.
