Because no institution is immune to Star Wars hype and John Williams is a national treasure, the Colorado Symphony Orchestra has added "The Music of Star Wars" to its 2016-17 season.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27, and 1 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at Boettcher Concert Hall, 1000 14th St.
Yes, that's just about the 40th anniversary of the first "Star Wars" debut on May 25, 1977. Everyone who attends the CSO performances is encouraged to come in costume.
And if you're bringing the whole family, arrive an hour early for Half Notes, which features pre-concert activities like composer dress-up, a composition station and an instrument petting zoo.
Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and start at $29. Get them online at coloradosymphony.org/
