The founder of the Denver-based yoga franchise, CorePower Yoga, was found dead Monday in his San Diego home.
"Due to suspicious circumstances," police are still investigating Trevor Tice's death, according to a news release sent Wednesday. Homicide Lt. Mike Holden told the San Diego Union-Tribune, “We don’t know what we have. This may end up being a death, not a murder.”
The California newspaper reports officers found Tice, 48, dead in his home after a friend asked for him to be checked on. The friend had reportedly gone to the house and saw something that caused concern.
Few other details about the case have been released. Holden didn't immediately return a call from Denverite.
Tice, a Telluride native, opened the first CorePower Yoga studio on Grant Street in downtown Denver in 2002. During the last 14 years, the company's expanded to more than 150 locations across 20 states.
CorePower generated $45.2 million in revenue in 2012 and was on the path to eclipsing $100 million more recently, according to a 2015 Inc. article.
