Denver can kiss its last Kmart goodbye.

Sears Holdings Corp. plans to close two Kmarts in Colorado including the store at 363 S. Broadway in Denver. The news may come as a shock both to shoppers who love the store and those who didn’t realize Denver still had a Kmart.

It’s the latter group that’s helped make Kmart a failing brand in recent years. Sears Holdings announced plans to close 108 Kmart and 42 Sears stores nationwide in 2017. Liquidation sales will begin as early as Friday at all closing stores.

Business Insider originally listed what stores would be closing Wednesday.

Last year, stores in Craig, Fort Collins and Thornton closed. In 2011, stores in Broomfield and Glenwood Springs were shut down.

The closures are intended to help keep Kmart from sinking entirely.

“We are taking strong, decisive actions today to stabilize the company and improve our financial flexibility in what remains a challenging retail environment,” Sears Holdings Chairman and CEO Edward S. Lampert said in a statement. “We are committed to improving short-term operating performance in order to achieve our long-term transformation.”
