After more than six years at 38th and Walnut streets, Jake's Sports & Spirits is shutting down to make way for a new beer garden.

EXDO Management partner Andrew Feinstein shared the news Tuesday on Facebook saying the space would be renovated over the next few months before reopening under new operators as RiNo Beer Garden.

"It’s very popular and it’s a bittersweet moment, but we’ve really turned our focus more and more to real estate ventures and we’re just not restaurant people," Feinstein said.

The property is still owned by EXDO Management, but RiNo Beer Garden will be operated by the owners of South Broadway's Historian's Ale House.

Jake's is loved for its straightforward sports bar style in an increasingly trendy area. The neighborhood hangout is expected to officially close its doors after Friday night.

"I’m proud of how inclusive and diverse it was and is," Feinstein said. "That’s why it was named Jake's -- it was every person’s bar. And we recognize that it was a huge part of the community."

The final night will mostly be business as usual, but Feinstein said they'll have "pretty aggressive" food and drink specials. Raise a glass.
