United Properties' Denver arm recently signed its first tenant for the upcoming Interpark industrial park in Broomfield.

The development firm announced Thursday that the healthcare automation company Swisslog will operate out the park east of U.S. 36. Construction on Interpark is expected to start in June with the opening date set for late 2018, according to a news release.

Interpark — located near West 112th Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard — will be comprised of two industrial buildings totaling 228,000 square feet and seven acres of walking and biking paths and retail amenities.  A 7-Eleven convenience store plans to open at the corner of the property in early 2018, and a national coffee chain is considering a location within the complex. Proposals from hotel users are also being considered for the site, according to CBRE, the real estate firm leasing the space.

“Investing in retail, green space and other tenant amenities may be unusual for a flex/industrial project, but we wanted to create a unique setting at Interpark that would attract quality companies like Swisslog Healthcare,” said Kevin Kelley, senior vice president and regional director for United Properties in Colorado, in a statement.

Swisslog CEO Stephan Sonderegger said the location in Broomfield will help the company draw talent from both Boulder and Denver.
