Only in Denver: Rollercoaster season may start the same day as a big ol’ snowstorm
Elitch’s PR department says that, at the time of this writing, everything is go for the Gardens’ opening day.
Guess what, kids? Elitch Gardens opens tomorrow!
Guess what else? It might snow six inches!
Yes, in typical “wtf spring” fashion, the first day of amusement park season also is the likely arrival date of Denver’s last (?) snowstorm, which may put seven inches of snow on the ground here by the end of Saturday.
Elitch’s PR department says that, as of now, 10:44 a.m., everything is go for the Gardens’ opening day. (Only the rollercoaster side is opening; water park opens Memorial Day weekend.)
Keep an eye out for any changes on Elitch’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, or here at Denverite.
If it does open, you can check out a new, 17-story chair-swing called the Star Flyer.
