Petty theft can get a legal immigrant deported

But Denver City Council might change that. A proposed reduction in maximum sentences would help non-citizens avoid deportation when they are convicted of theft and other lower-level crimes, but not more serious crimes like domestic violence. (Denverite)

Colorado’s economic growth slowed down for the first time in five years

Colorado’s gross domestic product, adjusted for inflation, rose 2 percent last year — behind 3 percent rise in 2015 and 4.7 percent rise in 2014. (DP)

Wells Fargo is planning more cuts

Colorado’s largest bank is preparing for another $2 billion in cuts and hundreds of branch closures by the end of 2019. That’s in addition to a previously announced $2 billion in cuts to happen by the end of 2018. (DBJ)
