A little more than seven months after he resigned as head coach of the Denver Broncos, Gary Kubiak is rejoining the team in another capacity.
Kubiak is coming back as a senior personnel advisor, which will essentially be a scouting role.
“With as much experience as he has evaluating players, Gary’s going to be a tremendous resource for our personnel department,” general manager John Elway said. “He’ll primarily help on the college side and assist us in free agency as well.

Kubiak stepped down as head coach in January, citing health reasons. On Oct. 9, Kubiak was hospitalized with a "complex migraine" after a loss to the Atlanta Falcons.
That was not his first health scare.
In November 2013, Kubiak, who was the Houston Texans head coach at the time, collapsed on the sideline after suffering a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA), or what's often referred to as a "mini-stroke."
"It was a struggle for me throughout the course of the year, just keeping up with the things that I normally do and the way I want to do them and handling situations on a daily basis," Kubiak said in January. "It was not one incident. But I am listening to the last few years."
The Broncos said Kubiak will be based out of Texas. Kubiak was born in Houston and attended Texas A&M.
"It’s an honor for me to continue to be part of this great organization," Kubiak said."“John and I talked long ago about any opportunity like this, and I’m very happy to be able to contribute on the personnel side.
"I said when I left that I still wanted to be involved in football. This gives me an opportunity to be involved with the game, and I’m excited to get to work."
Kubiak had a 21-11 regular season record as head coach of the Broncos. He guided the franchise to its third-ever Super Bowl victory in February 2016.
