Denver is looking at a high of 87 degrees and a 30 percent chance of precipitation in the afternoon, according to the National Weather Service. The rain might continue into tonight. If there's lightning, it may start a few new fires.

Friday will be cooler but still sunny, while the weekend will dip into the 70s, NWS forecasts. There will be a slight chance of thunderstorms and showers at lower elevations, while the mountains may see some snow above 10,000 feet.
