Hello! It's a relatively mild day in Denver and I wish it could be like this forever. But nothing is forever, including grocery stores and Todd Helton's career. (His goatee, however, might never die.)
ICYMI: Denver is among the cities that fought to temporarily shut down Jeff Sessions’ threat to “sanctuary city” funding
A judge ruled that the cities had shown a “likelihood of success” in their lawsuit against the Justice Department. The temporary injunction will block the Justice Department’s threats to withhold public safety money until the lawsuit can play out in court. (Denverite)
The Cherry Creek Safeway is closing
I've never shopped there, but somehow this still bums me out. It's been there for 51 years, and it's closing because of “long-standing contractual obligations.” (DP)
A dumb game to play here is to guess when that photo was taken before you read the caption. I was two years off.

Todd Helton and his facial hair are in town
“When they called me they told me about the reunion, I couldn’t believe it’d been 10 years,” Helton said. “Looking back, it was a great time in our lives. To see everybody’s faces, it was great. We were such a tight-knit group. To see them and we don’t skip a beat, it’s like we were playing 10 years ago.” (Denverite)
And the Rockies welcomed him with a win
Tyler Chatwood had a great night, pitching into the sixth and racking up his first runs of the season. Nolan Arenado did Nolan Arenado. They beat the Padres 6-1. (AP)

And if you're looking for dinner plans...
