Hi there. What an unexpectedly lovely day. The forecast called for a big ol’ mess of weather and instead we got sunshine. How very Denver.

Let’s hope it stays lovely into the evening, because we’re in for a can’t-miss game at Coors Field. Tonight could be the night the Rockies clinch a spot in the playoffs. It’s going to be wild.

Last night, at Coors Field…

A homer from Nolan Arenado kicked off a scoring spree and the Rockies crushed the Dodgers 9-1. They just need to win one more game to qualify for the Wild Card Game. (Denverite)

As of 10:30 a.m., tickets for tonight’s game were starting at $17.

Denver has a plan for dealing with the housing crisis

And, yes, “housing crisis” is an official term.

The plan will guide city investments and programs over the next five years with the goal of creating or preserving 3,000 units of affordable housing and helping 30,000 households at risk of displacement. (Denverite)

How about a greenway that’s also a flood channel?

That’s Denver’s vision for a 1-mile stretch of 39th Avenue in North Denver. There would be a low, grassy area from Steele Street to Franklin Street with a bicycle path, trees, plazas, structures and playgrounds. Stormwater would run through a channel on their way to the South Platte. (Denverite)

If exciting baseball isn’t your thing, there are plenty of other things to do

I mean, there are, like, 700 Oktoberfest celebrations happening in this city. Also, other stuff. (Denverite)
