Housing:
Denver is pursuing a legal challenge that could shut down a Colfax Avenue motel over concerns about crime. It's the first time the city has done something like this in several years, as Erica reports. (Denverite)

Colorado's prisons chief described solitary confinement as "torture" and said it should never last more than 15 days. (AP)
