Hi. We had a great party last night to conclude our Colfax Week series -- tons of people came to celebrate Colfax Avenue, and I hope you all had some quality conversations.

Parks & transportation:

We took a look at the four sections of a $20 million walkability plan for Colfax Avenue.

The riverside Shoemaker Plaza is reopening tomorrow after years of construction, finally freeing up Confluence Park.

RTD got an important federal approval to start testing the G Line, but they still need a "yes" from the state. (Denverite)

There's a public meeting about current designs for the City Park Golf Course at the course clubhouse tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. (CBS4)

Aurora now has its first bike-share program. The privately run LimeBike runs $1 for the first 30 minutes and does not require the use of docks. Instead, bikes are tracked on GPS. Brandon Johansson reports. (Aurora Sentinel)

Housing:

Denver is pursuing a legal challenge that could shut down a Colfax Avenue motel over concerns about crime. It's the first time the city has done something like this in several years, as Erica reports. (Denverite)

Justice:

Colorado's prisons chief described solitary confinement as "torture" and said it should never last more than 15 days. (AP)

He announced the policy in a New York Times op-ed. (NYT)

Environment:

Here's an interesting write-up on the 2014 experiment that briefly reunited the Colorado River with the sea. It might happen again, but no guarantees. (High Country)
